Company History

The Team
PCI Officers and Consultants are seasoned professionals who have had extensive experience not only as industry experts but also as members of management. The PCI team is renowned for its practical prowess with most associates boasting over two decades of industrial experience in senior line and staff positions. In addition, many of our consultants have advanced degrees in either engineering or business. This combination of experience and education allows PCI to bypass the learning curve and to begin solving client problems immediately.

The PCI team has written numerous articles for such publications as US Sites and Development, Journal of Business Strategy, Automotive Manufacturing, Production, Management Automation, Assembly, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering Solutions and Machine Design and Metal Forming.

In addition, the PCI team has spoken at meetings throughout Europe and the U.S. for such organizations as IIE, APICS, AMA and SME.

The President
Michael Paris is the founder and president of PCI. Prior to beginning the company, Paris spent nine years with A.T. Kearney (Chicago, IL) as a principal of the firm. He was responsible for developing and maintaining the Operations Strategy manufacturing practice and conducted nearly 70 engagements for such major clients as Navistar, Chrysler, General Dynamics, John Deere, FMC and NASA.

While serving as Facilities Program Manager at Continental Can Company, Paris was responsible for all strategic decisions relating to resource deployment, directing the opening closing, and consolidation of facilities as well as the reconfiguration, modernization and application of new manufacturing technologies. Paris also assisted in the start up of Taconite preparation operations in Minnesota and supported the operation of 3 company-owned coal mines in West Virginia.

As Director of Operations for a major integrated steel producer within the National Steel family of companies, Paris acquired extensive line management expertise. Managing 2,500 employees in a 13,000 employee facility provided him with a pragmatic approach to operations, which he eventually applied to his consulting techniques, becoming the base of the practical consulting methodology for which PCI is known.
